Our services

What SNDE does, and how to get things done: each service is explained step by step, with the right point of contact.

Three ways to reach us

Drinking water production and treatment

SNDE draws water from the Senegal River and from groundwater, then treats it so that it meets drinking water requirements.

The stages

  1. 1

    Abstraction

A river intake (the Aftout Es-Saheli system) or boreholes into aquifers, as at Idini.

  2. 2

    Treatment

Water is clarified and disinfected at treatment plants.

  3. 3

    Monitoring

Testing before water enters the network, and quality monitoring across it.

Transport and distribution

Transfer pipelines, pumping stations and reservoirs carry water to the urban networks that serve subscribers and public standpipes.

How water travels

  1. 1

    Transfer

Treated water is pumped to the cities through large pipelines.

  2. 2

    Storage

Reservoirs and water towers regulate pressure and hold a reserve.

  3. 3

    Distribution

The local network brings water to each subscriber’s meter.

  • Seen a leak in the street? Report it on the toll-free number, giving the neighbourhood and a landmark.

Subscriptions and connections

To connect a home or business to the network, you take out a subscription and SNDE carries out the connection.

The main steps

  1. 1

    Ask

Contact customer service or an office to find out which documents are required and the conditions.

  2. 2

    Apply

Hand in your complete file at the office serving your neighbourhood.

  3. 3

    Survey and quote

SNDE checks technical feasibility and tells you the cost of the connection.

  4. 4

    Payment and works

Once paid, the teams make the connection and install the meter.

  5. 5

    Contract

You sign your subscription contract and receive your customer reference.

  2. 2
